Influenza

This article, in the Proposed Content section, has no reference links, and is flagged for removal.

โ€˜Flu is contagious. It can be transmitted by touching an infected person โ€“ e.g. by a handshake โ€“ or by sneezing / coughing etc etc. But there has never been any scientific study which rigorously quantifies these vectors.

Also, the mathematical models which try to describe the spread of a โ€˜flu epidemic predict that it should be fairly easy to stop by simply isolating infected individuals. But itโ€™s not. There must be some as yet unknown factor(s) at work which cause it to be so virulent.
