Misphonia is a distressing neuro-behavioral syndrome which involves decreased tolerance for sounds of certain types. Example noises include breathing, chewing, swallowing, clicking sounds, keyboard tapping, finger tapping, clock ticking, windshield wipers etc.
Upon exposure to misophonic trigger sounds, emotional responses frequently include anger (ranging from irritation to rage), anxiety, disgust, avoidance, escape behavior as well as a feeling of being overwhelmed and/or overloaded by auditory stimuli."

It was first proposed as a distinct condition in 2001, but has yet to be generally recognized by the medical establishment.
Some research groups suggest that it may have links to Tinnitusplugin-autotooltip__plain plugin-autotooltip_bigTinnitus
"Tinnitus is the perception of noises in the head and/or ear which have no external source. It derives from the Latin word for ringing and those living with the condition may have to endure a ringing, buzzing, hissing, whistling or other noise. The sensation can be constant or intermittent and it can vary in volume., but the general consensus is that the cause is unknown.
It's thought to be a dysfunction of the central auditory system in the brain rather than an ear disorder.
