====== Misophonia ====== //Misphonia// is a distressing neuro-behavioral syndrome which involves decreased tolerance for sounds of certain types. Example noises include breathing, chewing, swallowing, clicking sounds, keyboard tapping, finger tapping, clock ticking, windshield wipers etc. >Upon exposure to misophonic trigger sounds, emotional responses frequently include anger (ranging from irritation to rage), anxiety, disgust, avoidance, escape behavior as well as a feeling of being overwhelmed and/or overloaded by auditory stimuli." >\\ [link below] It was first proposed as a distinct condition in 2001, but has yet to be generally recognized by the medical establishment. It's thought to be a dysfunction of the central auditory system in the brain rather than an ear disorder.
