====== Pumapunku ====== //Pumapunku// or //Puma Punku// (from the Aymara and Quechua words //puma,// meaning cougar or puma, and //punku, //meaning door) is part of a large Inca temple complex or monument group at the //Tiwanaku Site// near Tiwanaku, in western Bolivia. It's noted for its exceptional and precisely-cut sandstone stonework. It's estimated that the stonework must have been constructed sometime after 536–600 AD. Some of the stones weigh over 130 tons, and there are various (not yet generally agreed upon) theories about how they were cut with such precision, and how they were moved from their quarry site.
